6. Tom Pryce (1977)

Tom Pryce was a popular and only Welsh driver. The driver died in a tragic accident that created horrifying footage. This was during the Grand Prix of 1977 in South Africa. The accident happened when Renzo Zorzi’s car stopped at the track and two marshals ran with fire extinguishers to prevent the car from catching fire.

During this time, Pryce was driving behind Hans Joachim. Joachim managed to spot the Marshals and swerved, but Pryce could not see them from behind in time. He hit one of the marshals a 19-year-old Jansen Van Vuuren. The fire extinguisher Vuuren had carried hit Pryce on the face killing him on the sport.
