2. DUKW

Originally designed by yacht maker Sparkman and Stephens as an amphibious vehicle, DUKW was built by General Motors Corporation. They saw action in many invasions and river crossing, including Normandy and Inchon.

The only thing that matches their ugliness is their usefulness and many cities after the war had them as a tourist attraction, offering tours. There is one in Boston even today, called The Duck by the city residents.
