The Management

Ron Dennis

Ron Dennis

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Group

At the age of 18, as an apprentice mechanic at the Cooper F1 team, Ron Dennis got the opportunity of a lifetime: a trip to the Mexican Grand Prix to work on the team's third car. He has never looked back. He rose to become chief mechanic for three-time world champion Jack Brabham, and in 1971 he founded his own racing team. In 1980 he bought in to McLaren and began to stamp his characteristic rigour and attention to detail on the company. McLaren's list of successes since then has been almost endless, as has the string of racing legends to drive for them. Dennis finally stepped back from racing operations in 2009 to focus on the automotive side of the company.
