Luciano Burti's column

The circuit of Hungary’s GP is located within a racetrack, but the pilots say that due to the characteristics of the race track, Hungaroring is almost a street circuit with areas of escape. The race track is narrow, with mostly slow curves and the asphalt is of low adherence. Only the guardrails along the race track are missing to transform it into a street race track...

Last year, RBR dominated this Grand Prix due to the long radius curves, a characteristic that gives advantage to the cars of the Austrian team; however, recently, after two consecutive defeats (England GP and Germany GP) we cannot consider RBR as the unique favorite team.

After Hamilton’s victory in the German GP, McLaren is coming with full force promising to evolve even more. And Ferrari, which suffered with the lack of tire heating in Nurburgring, hopes not to experience the same problems due to the higher temperatures of Hungary. In addition, the tires used in this phase, of soft and super soft compounds, are evidently more efficient in cars of the Italian team.

And for us Brazilians a special highlight. Bruno Senna, the Renault backup pilot, will drive the car of the team during the first free training session of the team, in substitution of Heidfeld. So far, only a training session, but depending on his performance, possibility exists that Bruno will compete in a GP by the end of the season. And, with the return of Kubica still uncertain, Renault has to assess Bruno in race conditions so that, if necessary, it has a good pilot "kept as a surprise".

We are your fan, good luck Bruno!
