Singapore, the smallest country in Southeast Asia, is fantastic. Its organization, cleanliness and structure are quite similar to the Principality of Monaco, thus the play on words as to the comparison. And when the subject is F1, there are a few more similarities. Since 2008, Singapore has received the highest class of racing in the same format as the Monaco GP. But its major differential is that the race takes place at night, with the start of the race at 8:00 pm local time. Still, thanks to very efficient artificial lighting, the drivers have no trouble in terms of visibility.
However, like all street circuits, the drivers face major challenges such as the uneven surface and elevation shifts, low adherence and lack of escape areas are typical characteristics, which are usually unforgiving of driving mistakes.
We cannot forget that the championship may be decided at the Singapore GP since Vettel, who has a lead of 112points over Alonso, who is currently in second place, may increase this advantage to 125 points, thus guaranteeing his second championship. Remember that after this GP there will only be five races left in the season! To us, who are fans and love F1, it is more exciting when the championship is decided in the last races of the season. Therefore, let’s hope that, at least for once, Vettel won’t be in such a hurry...
