Sidepods

The F10’s sidepods have a bulge on the outer edges to help reduce aerodynamic lift. Inside, the radiators are longer and slimmer than before. The car is slightly longer to accommodate a larger fuel tank.

Front brake duct

Larger brake ducts on the F10 will give better ventilation to the discs and pads, enabling them to cope with the extra stress of carrying more fuel at the start of the race. There is a vane on top of each duct to help control the air flow.

Nose cone

The F10 is a high-nose design, with two prominent bulges on either side. This helps to prevent the top surface of the nose from generating aerodynamic lift. The underside of the nose is very flat, increasing the flow of air under the car towards the diffuser.

Diffuser

The diffuser channels air from under the car, boosting aerodynamic grip. The F10’s gearbox has been redesigned to create room for a faster flowing, more optimised diffuser layout.

Front wheel

All cars now run 20mm narrower front wheels to give a better handling balance.

Front wing

The front wing acts in the opposite way to an aircraft wing, pushing the car down to generate more grip. The flaps at each end are adjustable to tune the handling. The vertical plates at the ends of the wing are designed to direct air away from the front wheels, which are significant obstacles to the airflow.
